KATHRYN W. HITCHCOCK (1908-1979). Scrapbooks; 1972. .25 cu. ft.

Kathryn (Kay) W. Hitchcock was born in Snoquaimie, Washington on March 24, 1908. She moved to Alaska in 1939, and taught as as an English professor at University of Alaska, Fairbanks and the University of Alaska, Anchorage. She died at the Palmer Pioneer Home in 1979.

The collection consists of the original and one copy of a scrapbook compiled by Katheryn Hitchcock. The scrapbook primarily contain newspaper clippings from the years 1947 to 1971, and highlight notable Alaskans and historical events.

The scrapbooks were transferred to the archives from the Public Services Department of the Consortium Library in 1987.
