"WINGS OVER ALASKA" CONFERENCE. Transcripts of Oral Interviews; 1980. .1 cu. ft.

A conference entitled "Wings Over Alaska" was held at Alaska Pacific University on January 18 and 19, 1980. The conference was funded by a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts, involved bringing Alaska aviation pioneers together to record their comments. Also involved were World War II veterans who participated in action in Alaska including Admiral James Russell, General Masatake Okumiya, and Colonel Stanley Long.

This collection consists of transcripts of the talks given by nine participants in the conference. These were Frank Barr, Bob Ellis, Robert Gleason, Jim Hutchison, Bill Lavery, Jim Magee, Ray Petersen, Dick Reeve, and Tony Schultz.

The copied transcripts were prepared by Kay Kennedy. The copies were distributed by the Alaska Historical Library in 1983.
