John H. “Jack” Wilkins was from Belmont County, Ohio. He enlisted in the U.S. Army at Fort Hayes in Columbus, Ohio, on October 8, 1941. Wilkins was stationed in Nome, Alaska in 1943 as a member of the 2nd Battalion of the 4th Infantry Regiment.

The collection consists of a World War II era letter with envelope by 4th Infantry soldier John H. Wilkins in Nome to his parents in 1943. The postmarked envelope is addressed to G. R.
