Biographical note:
Mrs. W. M. Dorsey, a resident of Floydada, Texas, traveled to Anchorage, Alaska in May of 1954. Mrs. Dorsey received the vacation as a gift from her two sons, Joe and Robert Montgomery, who were teachers and Anchorage residents. Mrs. Dorsey kept a diary of her trip from May 26 through June 16, 1954.

Collection description:
This collection contains Mrs. W. M. Dorsey’s diary of her trip to Alaska in 1954. While in Alaska, Mrs. Dorsey visited Anchorage and Valdez, fished for salmon, and visited with her family. The diary includes eleven pages of handwritten entries, plus three newspaper clippings chronicling her adventure.
