Biographical note:
Herb McKinney is a resident of Spenard, now part of Anchorage, Alaska.  Mr. McKinney is the son of W. D. McKinney who was one of the first homesteaders to settle in the area of what is now Fireweed Lane.

Collection description:
This map shows the locations of roads, both existing and planned, in the Spenard area in the 1930s and 1940s.  In addition, the names and locations of early homesteads are shown.
