Biographical note:
Arnold E. Grahl was born in 1912. In February 1945, he was serving in the headquarters of a military unit at Ft. Richardson, Alaska. He died in New Jersey in 1982.

Collection description:
This collection consists of a single letter and envelope. The letter was written by Mr. Grahl to his wife, Mary. In the letter he describes the weather, the speed of mail delivery, gives advice to his wife on obtaining heating oil for their home in Westwood, New Jersey, among other subjects. The envelope is printed with a rough map of the north Pacific Ocean and a picture of an Alaskan brown bear.
