Biographical note:
Chuck Meier was a bus driver for the Alyeska Pipeline Service Company who drove the Dalton Highway during construction of the Trans-Alaska Pipeline from1975 to 1978. He lived in Fairbanks, Alaska.

Collection description:
The collection consists of the Trans-Alaska Pipeline photographs of Chuck Meier. The collection contains 249 color prints and 71 color 16mm negatives. Subjects of the photographs include: Chuck Meier; the Dalton Highway or haul road; work camps (interiors and exteriors); buses and passengers; pipeline construction (workers, pipe and supports, trucks, heavy equipment, aircraft, pigs); wildlife (wolves, bears, moose, ground squirrels, ravens); Parks Highway scenes; the harbor in Valdez; glaciers; and scenery. The photographs include two oversize prints of a scene of the northern lights over a section of the pipeline at Chena Flats near Fairbanks.
