Biographical note:
A.G. Bickel served in the Alaska Engineering Commission in 1917. In April 1918 he was a passenger on the S.S. Admiral Dewey. In 1919, he served in the Army Corps of Engineers in Pontanezen, France.

Collection description:
The collection contains photographs and a guide and map published by the U.S. Department of the Interior titled, “General Information regarding the Territory of Alaska: Edition of September, 1918.” Photographs include 2 group portraits taken by P.S. Hunt in June 1917 that depict Bickel and other members of the Alaska Engineer Commission; group photographs of Bickel and other passengers aboard S.S. Admiral Dewey 1918; and photographs of unidentified towns and people he knew during his stay in Alaska.

Arrangement: Photographs appear to be in no particular order.
