Biographical note:
John F. Johnson was born in 1920 in Ohio. He enlisted into the Army in August, 1942 as a Private and was discharged as a Sergeant in October 1945. He served for just over two years with the Coast Artillery in Alaska as well as with the Army Ground Forces headquarters.
Collection description:
The collection consists of photographic materials, documents and Mr. Johnson’s dog tags. The photographs relate primarily to the scenery and personnel at Dutch Harbor. The documents include copies of orders, information regarding photograph developing, a baggage inventory, and other collected articles and writings about the war.
Arrangement: The materials were retained in the order in which they were given to the Archives.
