Biographical note:
Jean Bernasconi was married to Victor F. Bernasconi, who retired as Anchorage’s fire chief in 1972 when they moved out of state.

Collection description:
The collection contains 35 mm slides, some clippings, and a few photographs. The bulk of the collection is slides which include some social events between 1961 and 1964 and then primarily images of earthquake damage to the Anchorage area in 1964. The clippings mostly relate to Victor Bernasconi’s work with the Anchorage Fire Department. The photographs are prints from Anchorage circa 1917.

Arrangement: The materials in the collection are arranged by format type. The slides are arranged by the dates printed on the slide mounts.
