Organizational history:
The Alaska Center for Public Policy (ACPP) was founded in 2004 by Dr. Lawrence D. Weiss. ACPP was a non-partisan, non-profit organization committed to the advancement of public policies that could improve the health and well-being of individuals, families, and communities throughout Alaska. They pursued their public policy mission through independent research, analysis of policies, public education, technical assistance, program evaluations, and the development of collaborative partnerships. ACPP also published a monthly newsletter, Alaska Health Policy Review (AHPR), which focused on health policy matters in the state of Alaska. Dr. Weiss was Executive Director of ACPP from 2004-2011, and Kelby Murphy served as Executive Director from 2012 until the organization closed in 2015.
