Archives & Special Collections received a Tower Endowment award in April to digitize and post on the Alaska’s Digital Archives [link please http://vilda.alaska.edu] a series of historical maps from the Alaskan Boundary Tribunal.  These maps were gathered by the various parties in the case to use in setting the Alaskan border between the United States and Canada.

The goal of this endowment is to increase the visibility of Canadian studies at UAA and in the community and to improve opportunities for faculty who support Canadian Studies at UAA. This project will make the Boundary Tribunal case maps available worldwide via the Alaska’s Digital Archives site.  The project will be completed by the end of the summer.
