Biographical note:
Gerald Flynn was a member of the United States Army, Eleventh Air Force, 54th Fighter Squadron, during World War II. He was stationed on Attu for over two years during the war.

Collection description:
The collection consists of World War II era photographs collected by Eleventh Air Force veteran Gerald Flynn. There are 17 black and white photographic prints of aerial combat, aircraft, airfield facilities, and aerial views. Locations where the photographs were taken include Attu and Kiska islands. All but two of the photographs appear to be from official military sources. Aircraft pictured include P-38G, P-38J, and P-40 fighters, a C-47 cargo plane, and a B-25 bomber. The combat photographs include those of Japanese ships under aerial attack.
