Biographical note:
Omer D. Clark was from Oneonta, New York. He was a civilian construction worker on the Canol (Canadian Oil) Pipeline, which ran from Norman Wells, Northwest Territories, to Whitehorse, Yukon Territory.

Collection description:
The collection consists of the photograph album of Omer D. Clark. The collection contains: a xerographic copy of the original 53-page album; 109 black and white prints from the album; 18 black and white photo post cards; and 16 lithographic plates of scenes of Vancouver, British Columbia. Subjects of the Canol Pipeline construction photographs include scenery, workers, construction camps, vehicles, heavy machinery, barges, boats, airplanes, and bridges, as well as oil drilling and storage facilities. Most of the photographs are from numbered sets of prints. Subjects of the post cards include a set of twelve Alaska Highway construction scenes; four color-tinted views of Vancouver, British Columbia and Stanley Park; one Alaska Highway view; and one view of “Pennsylvania’s Grand Canyon,” Harrison State Park, Tioga County. Five of the post cards are addressed to Mrs. Agnes S. Clark of Oneonta, New York, with a sixth addressed to Hollywood Barber of the same town. The lithographic scenes of Vancouver, British Columbia were published by The Coast Publishing Company, Vancouver.

Arrangement: Collection materials are arranged by document type. Photographs were reordered by size.
