Biographical note:
Goldie and Bob (last name unknown) took a trip to visit family and friends in Central California and South Central Alaska in the summer of 1953. They visited Berkeley and San Francisco in California by car. They then flew to Anchorage from Seattle, Washington. From Anchorage, they visited area lakes, the Matanuska Valley, Arctic Valley, Fort Richardson, Eklutna Village, Matanuska Glacier, and Seward.

Collection description:
The collection consists of the tourist photograph album of tourists Goldie and Bob. The 36-page album contains 102 black and white prints. Subjects of the photographs include: Goldie and Bob with family and friends, sight seeing, picnicking, flower gathering and salmon fishing. Locations where the photographs were taken include: the University of California at Berkeley; the Japanese Tea Garden and the Palace of Honors in San Francisco, California; the Knik River Bridge; the Knik River; Lake Wasilla; a Matanuska Valley potato farm; Big Lake; Buffalo Coal Mine; the road to Arctic Valley (Ski Bowl); Elmendorf Air Force Base (Air Show); Fort Richardson; Eklutna Cemetery; Glenn Highway; Matanuska Glacier; Sheep Mountain; Seward Highway; Finger Lake; Lake Spenard; Cook Inlet; Lake Hood; the McKay Building in Anchorage; the Alaska Railroad Station in Anchorage; Civil Defense living quarters in Anchorage; and the Seattle Airport.
